A List of Reasons to Be Thankful in 2020 in Spite of the COVID-19 Pandemic

2020 has been quite a year, no thanks to COVID-19. Although it’s been a year of ups and downs, we have a lot to be thankful for.

As we reflect on this year during this Thanksgiving holiday, here are some reminders of what we should be grateful for in these unprecedented times:

  • More time to spend with family
Although social distancing regulations have placed a major damper on our day-to-day lives, quarantining at home has freed up a lot of time for us to spend with our families this year.

  • More opportunities to get creative
Since there were a lot of public venue closings and travel restrictions this year due to COVID-19, many people found creative ways to celebrate special occasions with their loved ones, from drive-by parades to Zoom parties. Although it’s not what we’re used to, it forced us to think outside of the box and find new ways to spend time with the people we care about.

  • Room to pause and appreciate the simpler things in life
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us were in constant motion, always in a hurry to get to the next destination. Now that a lot has slowed down, it’s given us time to pause and be grateful for the things we may have taken for granted before, from getting a haircut and buying groceries to spending time with family and friends.

Despite everything that has happened this year, 2020 has a few silver linings, and we can all learn and grow from the lessons it has taught us.
