Payment Options

No-Fee Payment Options:

Making on-time payments can help you rebuild your credit. Select one of our no-fee payment options below to learn more.

AutoPay

  • Easily set up automatic payments with a debit/ATM card, checking account, or savings account (NOTE: Credit cards are not accepted).
  • Schedule your recurring payments to be weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly.
  • Payments are posted on the day(s) you choose. Payments are processed 7 days a week, including holidays.
  • An AutoPay schedule can be established or modified 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and on holidays, in the Mobile App or on the Customer Portal.
  • Any change to an AutoPay schedule needs to be made before 12:00 am ET one day prior to the next scheduled payment date.

You can set up AutoPay 3 ways:

Mobile App:

Download the Credit Acceptance Mobile App to set up AutoPay. Securely log into your Credit Acceptance account with fingerprint or face ID to set up AutoPay.

Customer Portal:

  1. Log in to the Customer Portal.
  2. Click “Enroll in AutoPay” on the Portal’s home page.
  3. Follow the instructions to set up AutoPay.

Phone:

Call 1-800-634-1506 to talk to a Credit Acceptance Representative and set up automatic payments.

Mail

Check or Money Order via U.S. Post Office

Include your payment coupon and Credit Acceptance account number on your check or money order. Do not send cash. Do not send correspondence other than your coupon.

Payments are posted the same business day if received by 5:00 pm ET. Payments received after business hours will be processed the next business day. It’s recommended that you mail payments 7 days before the due date.

Check or Money Order

Leave your check or money order payment in the drop box in front of Credit Acceptance headquarters, located at 25505 West 12 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan. Do not leave cash in the drop box. Include your account number written on your check or money order.

Payments are posted the same business day if received by 5:00 pm ET.

ACI charges a processing fee which will appear as a separate transaction on your bank statement. This fee is in addition to any fees that may be charged by your financial institution. See below for the fee amount for each payment option.

Payments are posted the same day if submitted to Western Union by 10:00 pm ET. This payment option is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and on holidays.

Bank Transfer or Billpay

Via your bank's website with checking or savings Account.

Consult your bank for fee details.

Follow your bank’s instructions for bill payments. Select Credit Acceptance as a payee. Select a one time or recurring payment. Direct your payment to P.O. Box 551888, Detroit, MI 48255-1888.*

Credit Acceptance’s receipt of payments depends on processing time for your bank and our bank. Payments are posted the same day they are processed by our bank.

Your Frequently Asked Questions.

Can I change my payment date?

Your payment date cannot be changed as it is based on the date you signed your contract. Making a payment arrangement does not change how we report to the credit bureaus.

When is my payment considered late?

Any monthly payment unpaid more than 30 days after the payment due date listed in your contract will be reported as delinquent.

How will I know if my payment was made or scheduled successfully in the Customer Portal or on the Mobile App?

Once a payment is submitted, or a payment is scheduled to be made, you will receive an on-screen confirmation on the web or in the Mobile App. If you would like, you can print the confirmation receipt or take a screenshot in the Mobile App.

How will I know if my payment was processed?

Once a payment is submitted, it will be posted to your Credit Acceptance account. However, this does not mean that the payment has been processed with your financial institution or card issuer. Payments are usually processed within two business days, but you will need to confirm with your financial institution or card issuer that the money has been withdrawn from your account.

What payment methods can I use to set up my payment in the Customer Portal or on the Mobile App?

Payment can be made using a debit card or with a bank account (savings, checking, or money market). The debit card option has pictures of common cards used, such as Mastercard, Visa and Discover. These payments can only be made by cards that are designated as a debit card or a pre-paid card (no credit cards will be accepted).

I chose my Autopay withdrawal to occur on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month. What happens for the months where there isn’t a 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month?

The last day of the month will be used for payments scheduled on the 29th, 30th, or 31st in months where this day does not exist.
